Pirate Radio: Maritime Film Festival

Join the Cal Maritime Library and the Department of Culture & Communication for this week’s screening of the Maritime Film Festival. On Tuesday, March 10th at 7pm in Rizza Auditorium, we’ll be watching Pirate Radio.

Here’s a brief description to whet your appetite: “The irreverent yet fact-based tale of a seafaring band of rogue rock and roll deejays whose “pirate radio” captivated and inspired 1960s Britain. Playing the music that rocked a nation and a decade, the group boldly and hilariously defies the government that tries to shut them down.”

Introduction by Tuuli Messer-Bookman, faculty member in Maritime Transportation Department

Patrick Dackins, 4th place winner of the Student Film Contest will be screened before Pirate Radio.
