TED Talk Screening & Discussion Series Part 3: America’s Native Prisoners of War

The Cal Maritime Library & Housing Department will be hosting the final event in our semester-long series of TED Talk screenings followed by group discussion, on Tuesday April 4th from 1100-1145 in the Library Green Room.

The third screening & discussion will be about “America’s native prisoners of war,” a talk given by photographer Aaron Huey at TEDxDU in 2010. The TED website describes the video like this: “Aaron Huey’s effort to photograph poverty in America led him to the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, where the struggle of the native Lakota people — appalling, and largely ignored — compelled him to refocus. Five years of work later, his haunting photos intertwine with a shocking history.”

Faculty, staff and students are all welcome. Join us to listen, watch and discuss!
