Farewell to Library Dean Rick Robison

The library faculty and staff hosted a gathering in the library today to say farewell to our Library Dean, Richard Robison. Rick has been the Library Dean at Cal Maritime for a little more than three years, and in that time he has done much to move the library forward. Some highlights include:

  • A much-needed upgrade to the circulation system, at a bargain price due to a partnership with Sonoma State
  • New group study space, very popular with students and helping keep noise levels down in other parts of the library
  • Membership in Link+, the super-fast borrowing service from other libraries
  • Expanded early and late hours, in response to student requests
  • Expanded DVD collection, with both popular and educational titles

We’re wishing Rick well in his new position as Dean at Diablo Valley College, which starts next week.

Farewell to Rick

  1. All best wishes to you, Rick. I am very sorry you are leaving the Maritime Academy Library. It was very nice to have you as a neighbor. Tamara Trujillo, Touro University California Library
